At Wilderness River Adventures, we have a deep commitment to protecting the environment. Each day, we work to reduce our environmental footprint while delivering exceptional experiences for our guests. Throughout our company, we develop and implement long-tern environmental stewardship programs and policies within the areas of sustainable food, energy and water conservation, and waste stream management. We have a comprehensive program of green initiatives that include:
- Recycling all aluminum, glass and plastic used on the trips
- Re-useable plates and silverware
- Solid waste is carried out and treated by a licensed third party
- Our motorboats use 4-stroke motors, which run cleaner and more efficiently
- T-shirts and hats provided to our customers are made from 100% recycled cotton
Additionally, Wilderness River Adventures has joined the National Park Service in developing quieter, lower-impact motorboat propulsion technology, through the Alternative Motorboat Propulsion Research and Implementation Project.
