Leave the Stone UNturned – Say No to Graffiti
Over three million people visit Glen Canyon National Recreation Area each year, leading to frequent graffiti incidents. Many visitors don't realize that drawing, carving, or painting on rocks is illegal vandalism. Unlike historic Native American or early settler markings, modern graffiti damages natural and cultural sites, even defacing ancient petroglyphs. Removal is difficult and can leave permanent scars. Preserve this beautiful area by taking photos instead of leaving marks. Say no to graffiti!
