- Where is Wilderness River Adventure? Where is Wilderness River Adventure? All Horseshoe Bend Rafting trips start and end at our River Headquarters at 199 Kaibab, Page, AZ 86040. Our facility is located on the corner of Haul Road and Kaibab Road. GPS coordinates are 36.9037000, -111.4750911. There is ample parking behind the building.

Page, Arizona does not observe daylight savings time, please plan accordingly and set electronic devices to “Phoenix Time Zone”, when entering the area. In addition, the city neighbors the Navajo Reservation, and the Utah Stateline, both of which honor Daylight Savings. Click here to check what time it is.
- What do I need to bring? What do I need to bring?
Make sure you are prepared to spend the day outside. Because weather conditions change throughout the season, check the weather forecast before your arrival.
Spring and Fall - You may experience cooler temperatures and windy days; jackets and rain gear may be appropriate.
July through September - Temperatures may reach 105 degrees or greater while on the river. Therefore, sun protection is a must. Bring a brimmed hat, sunglasses, light weight long-sleeve shirt for protection against the sun, sunscreen, and lip balm. Always remember to stay hydrated and be sure to bring a refillable water bottle. You may also bring a lunch or snacks.
Thunderstorms and afternoon rain showers may occur; rain gear is recommended.

- Food & Snacks – You will be gone for a duration of 5 hours round-trip. Salty snacks are also recommended during the hot summer months. Hardshell cooler is not allowed.

For the safety and security of everyone while on tour with Wilderness River Adventures, the following items and activities are not permitted:
- Alcoholic Beverages
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Smoking aboard the Wilderness bus and vessel (vaping included)
- Hardshell Coolers (no space on vessel)
- Weapons (i.e.knives, pepper spray and other aerosols, key rings/key chains for self-defense, stun-guns, any concealed weapons, firearms, etc. and any ammunition or accessories to weapons)
- Are there Restrooms? Are there Restrooms? Yes. Restrooms are available at our Wilderness Headquarters in Page, Petroglyph Beach (half-way into your river trip) and Lee’s Ferry.
- What is the Cancellation Policy? What is the Cancellation Policy?
Wilderness River Adventures reserves the right to cancel any river trip or decrease the size for any prudent reason when deemed necessary. If trips are canceled by the company, all trip monies are refunded. A $10 per person cancellation fee will be retained for any cancellation received 48 hours before the trip's scheduled departure.
Please call or email if your group is experiencing any last-minute delays. NO REFUNDS INSIDE OF 48 HOURS.

- When is the best time of year to go rafting with Wilderness River Adventures? When is the best time of year to go rafting with Wilderness River Adventures?

- Do I need any river experience? Do I need any river experience? Rafting the Colorado River through Horseshoe Bend in Glen Canyon is considered a calm water trip. No whitewater will be encountered, so this trip is perfect for the entire family and people of all abilities.
- What if I can’t swim? What if I can’t swim? Since this is a calm water trip, we do not anticipate a situation where you might end up in the water. We do provide USCG-approved life jackets, and our guides are trained in water-rescue. While life jackets are optional for adults, wearing a lifejacket is mandatory for children, twelve years old and younger, at all times while the boats are underway.
- How far in advance must I make reservations to go rafting with Wilderness River Adventures? How far in advance must I make reservations to go rafting with Wilderness River Adventures?
The general rule of thumb is to book as early as possible to ensure that you get the date and departure time you like best. If you would like to book an entire boat for a large group, please call 800-341-8934 to speak with one of our group reservations specialists. Wilderness River Adventures also takes bookings by telephone, online, or in person at our headquarters in Page, Arizona. We invite you to walk in if you are interested in a same-day trip. We do require 8 full-fare passengers to launch a trip. Should the minimum not be reached, the trip will be canceled. Anyone already booked for the trip will receive a 100% refund and an opportunity to re-book for another trip.

Wilderness River Adventures can accommodate guests with disabilities and can offer modified trips. Please call 1-800-992-8022 to discuss your individual needs and how we can accommodate them.
- What are your age requirements? What are your age requirements? Passengers must be 4 years of age or older to participate.
- Do Wilderness River Adventures river trips go in the rain? Do Wilderness River Adventures river trips go in the rain? Wilderness River Adventures runs rafting trips rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel trips due to unsafe conditions based on our policies. If we have to cancel your trip due to weather, you will be refunded 100% of the trip cost or we will reschedule you to another trip time or date if available.
- What should I wear? What should I wear?
Be prepared to go rafting and spend the day outside. Conditions on the river change throughout the year, so we ask you to dress for the season. Temperatures can fluctuate up to 105+ degrees Fahrenheit in summer; and down to 45 degrees Fahrenheit in the spring and fall. In general, WEAR LAYERS in the Spring and fall months. We can experience cooler temperatures and windy days; jackets and long pants are appropriate. During the summer months, shorts and lightweight clothing are acceptable attire. Brimmed hats, sunglasses, and shoes that can get wet and sandy, are musts for the adventure.
Individuals sitting close to the front of the vessel will feel a spray from the bow of the boat.
- Will I get wet? Will I get wet? Yes. As we motor up and down the Colorado River, you will feel occasional spray from the bow of the boat. Passengers sitting towards the front of the vessel will experience this more than passengers sitting towards the back.
- How cold is the water? How cold is the water? The water from Glen Canyon Dam is released at a constant 47 degrees Fahrenheit. Rule of thumb….it warms one degree every 20 miles it travels downstream.
