Paddle the Colorado River in Glen Canyon at Your Own Pace

We provide backhauling services from Lees Ferry upriver to just below the Glen Canyon Dam. It’s the perfect adventure for the do-it yourself boater. Paddle watercrafts, not to exceed 16’ in length, including kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and rafts may be backhauled. We do not tow watercrafts. Meet Wilderness River Adventures at Lees Ferry, and we will shuttle you upstream 15 miles, just below the Glen Canyon Dam or to your desired location. There are 6 first come, first serve campsites for overnight stays with self-composting toilets. No permit is required for camping.

Water flows are regulated by the Glen Canyon Dam. For water release details, contact the Bureau of Reclamation for the daily outflow at 928.645.3978. You need to be prepared for temperatures from 40 degrees Fahrenheit/ 3 degrees Celsius in the spring and fall to 105 degrees Fahrenheit/ 41 degrees Celsius in the summer. Early spring winds and monsoon rain in the mid-summer are frequent. Water temperature is always 47-52 degrees Fahrenheit/ 8-11 degrees Celsius as the water is released from the base of the Glen Canyon Dam.

Wilderness River Adventures is not responsible for damage to any craft or gear during backhaul service. We will not tow any crafts - all must be loaded onto our rafts. 
Wilderness River Adventures does not rent water crafts for this service.
